First appearing on our screens in
the 1980s, the hoverboard has been the dream of kids everywhere. It's magical
ability to seamlessly take you from one place to another, completely unhindered
by the surface over which you travel. Seeing Marty Muffle hover over a pond on
a Childs converted scooter sparked something in everyone, people started to
consider it as possible. It's only right that in 2015 we have come a step
closer, as it is the year in the future Marty and the Professor visit. In 2015
(for real), hoverboards do actually exist! Don't get too excited, however...
There does need to be a fair amount of things in place for it to 'hover', as
such. Lexus famously made a hover board for their advert, as part of an ad
series to do with technology. Their board needed a metal track to run above and
a good serving of liquid nitrogen every now and then, it's not quite as
practical as Marty's just yet. The other hover board being worked on (which
actually hovers above the ground, anyway) is a bit better, needing only a metal
skate park to run above. Unfortunately, there is no way to control the
direction of travel on this board, but it's a step in the right direction. The
hoverboards I am referring to is the 2 wheeled, self balancing kind. They were
first seen in action at the Canton Fair in China, a popular technology fair
which has lots of new and cool gadgets being shown off by their producers /
inventors. Granted, it got a lot of attention, but clearly no-one quite knew
what it was going to become. In the early months of 2015, they hit the Western
world and exploded to fame with a few clever product placements. Justin Bieber
and Chris Brown were seen with the boards, and the rest is history! IO HAWK,
one of the original importers of the hoverboard, had sent a board or 2 to
Justin and his clan completely free of charge, which has since paid itself off
quite nicely. It's official. The future is now. Why? Not on account of space
travel, not because of water-resistant cellular phones, or even just those
brand-new cell phone watches. No, we have finally reached "the
future" because, after many years of patiently waiting and plenty of phony
products, actual hoverboards are officially an actual thing. A company called
Hendo has brought our Marty McFly-inspired ambitions to wonderful reality, and
they recently let Tony Hawk have a go on their own great design. The only
problem here? You have to have a Tony Hawk-sized bank account to get your hands
on one of these bad boys. Don't believe me? A 5-minute ride (with assistance
from Hondo staff) costs you one hundred bucks, a duplicate board without a
hover engine (so just a bit of fancy wood, really) will set you back $449, and
an actual hover board is $10,000. Sure, that's a ton of money, but
concurrently, it's a freaking hover board, one which you might essentially own
and ride at any moment. It's time for you to start saving! The hovering action
isn't as severe as Marty McFly's board. The Hendo Hoverboards will hover about
an inch above the ground. I've seen several negative people out there, whining
how the hovering action is small. I'd much like to remind you that this is
known as a first gen hoverboard, knowing that the one inch Hendo lets you hover
is precisely one inch more than we've had with anything prior to the
introduction of the Hendo Hoverboard. Now you simply need some of Marty's ill
kicks to totally supply you to hover in fashion. At this time there's also a
completely new hoverboard obtainable on the current market(sort of). It's kind
of like a hoverboard but it's called a mini segway, and the cool thing about it
is, no handlebars are equipped on it and you've likely have noticed it once or
twice! These awesome two-wheeled electric scooters move with the use of your
legs only, so no steering is needed at all. With these mini segway hoverboards
surfacing around the world, it makes us think how quick and rapid times are
changing and what on earth is next for technology. There are numerous places
where the mini segway is for sale, so if you're interested check at any
local electronic store! Hendo is actually in the works right now to
constructing the 2nd gen hoverboard and they said they believe to launch it by
2017. So if you're looking ahead to getting your hands on a hoverboard or
should I say legs than support Hendo!
